The Quintus legacy began in 1948 when Ernest William Keappler, then a pilot with Eastern Airlines, built a home for his new family in the Sylvan Terrace neighborhood of East Point, Ga.

Requests to build homes for others quickly prompted E.W. to quit flying and build houses full time. Since then, milestones for Quintus have included the following.

  • 1954: First new home
    subdivision, Bonnie Brooke
    Estates, in East Point

  • 1960: First apartment
    community, 1890 House
    Apartments, in Atlanta

  • 1970: First office park,
    Greenbriar Office Park,
    in Atlanta

  • 1974: First shopping
    center, Old National
    Village, in College Park

Now in its third generation, Quintus is enjoying new growth under the direction of Kelly Keappler, E.W.’s eldest grandchild and president of Quintus Development. Kelly embraces the vision on which the company was founded as he carries on the legacy for the next generation of Keapplers.

The Keappler family developed its first Atlanta apartment community in 1960. Below is the 1948 home built by E.W. Keappler. Over half a century later, the Keappler family’s commitment to the Atlanta metropolitan community remains for the long-term.
